Fighting Gully Sangiovese 2018

Description

The Beechworth wine region, while relatively small encompasses many climatic niche’s, it’s a hillside winegrowing region with a range of altitudes and terroirs that allows for the premium production of several varieties including Sangiovese. Fighting Gully Road wines combine a unique expression of their particular vineyard site, and the greater regional influences. The wines are made using minimal intervention and careful vineyard management under the watchful eye of Mark Walpole. This 2018 Sangiovese is a timeless expression of the grape, a blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino, it was matured in 25% new French oak. Deep in colour with aromas of red berry mixed with earthy dried herbs and fresh tobacco. On the palate, silky tannin with a fresh acidicty and a long finish – the perfect table wine.
