A Passion project for winemaker Richard Byllaardt. All of his wines are inspired by members of his family. So each of them holds a special place in his heart. This wine drinks exceptionally well for the price.

“This wine is named after our daughter Christine; a natural redhead, once a Ranga, always a Ranga. These low cropping Riesling grapes were grown in the Clare Valley wine region of South Australia, which has an ideal climate for Riesling”.– Richard Byllaardt, Viticulturist

Riesling is a grape of German origin which has firmly taken its hold in Australia. Famous in the Clare and Eden Valleys of South Australia. Many experts and moms alike claim it to be the best grape in the world for making white wine. Many of us may be at odds with this statement, as we have surely all come across a poor quality sweet riesling that may have turned us off to them completely. This is not true of many of the current high quality riesling producers in Australia, but the reputation has nonetheless stuck. Riesling has also been stereotyped as just a sweet grape, but while botrytized Rieslings are among the finest sweet wines in the world, the majority of global Riesling wines are either dry or just kissed with a touch of sweetness to balance the vibrant acidity.
