Description

It would be nearly impossible to make a list of New World Classics without including Kiwi Savvy B. The wine is entwined with the name and the culture of Marlborough. There is no doubt that a great volume of poor quality, skin peeling sauvignon blanc exists, but there is a reason for the initial rise in popularity. Fresh aromatics, zippy acid and a tropical fruit palate all are accentuated by the long sunny days and cool nights in Marlborough. Babich is one of the long time high quality producers in NZ. Starting on the North Island in 1916 and expanding to Marlborough in the late 1980’s they were making high quality Sauvignon Blanc before it was cool. We are not meant to like it, but when it’s good, it’s so bloody good.
