Tinta Barocca is a grape mostly known in Portugal for making their famous Port wine. It has been used here in Australia in much the same fashion. Ricca Terra in the Riverland has taken a different approach and decided to make a table wine with this bouncy little grape. A fairly small amount of this wine was made by winemaker Ashley Ratcliff. In an area that is more known for Goon Bags and cask wine than quality table wines, Ricca Terra and a few other producers are ringing in a new era for this under appreciated region.
